In a recent report by «Progressive Dairy», Les Hansen, professor for «Dairy Cattle Genetics» at the University of Minnesota, reports on the «impact of genomics on the rapid increase of inbreeding of Holsteins» in North America — both in terms of level and rate of increase. The published tables were provided by the «Council Dairy Cattle Breeding» (CDCB). For comparison, an evaluation by VIT Verden presents a significantly more careful development of inbreeding of Holsteins in Germany.
