According the first data from the German milk recording organizations, the Osnabrueck Holstein cows reached in 2017/18 an average result of 10,328 kg milk, 3.99% fat, 412 kg fat, 3.44% protein and 355 kg protein (based on of 30,793 cows in 396 farms).

As a result of the significant increase of +354 kg milk and +16 kg fat & protein, one of the highest performance increases in recent years has been achieved in the Osnabrueck area. This enormous improvement was certainly due to the very good feed harvest in 2017. Due to the very low and also significantly poorer quality of the feed production in the current year, it is expected that in 2019 such outstanding achievements can not be repeated.

Ultimately, the result from the area of the milk control ring Osnabrueck is not yet completed, because the milk recording results from the neighboring Westphalian OHG farms are still missing. Nevertheless, it can be assumed that also these approx. 10,000 additional cows will reach more than 10,000 kg milk in average for the first time.

Therefore we congratulate all our member farms for their outstanding achievements.
