We regret to announce the cancellation of this year’s International Black & White Days due to a confirmed case of foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Brandenburg, Germany. While follow-up investigations have not identified any further spread, the origin of this outbreak remains unclear.
This uncertainty has understandably caused significant concern among our member farms, customers, and visitors. Prioritizing preventive disease control and the safety of all stakeholders, we have decided that taking even the smallest residual risk is unacceptable at this time.
We deeply regret the decision to cancel, especially with preparations well underway and animals already selected for the Top Genetics Auction, the show, and the daughter groups. This year promised to be exceptional, with progeny groups of top sires like CARUSO and MIRCO, and an impressive lineup of show cows, including ADLON P daughters and promising young heifers like the first SOLISTs and MIRCO’s full sister. Notably, the oldest show cow, Micah Dagmar von Meyer, now in her 10th lactation with over 110,000 kg lifetime production, would have been a highlight.
The Top Genetics Auction featured outstanding calved heifers, high type and valuable genomic breeding animals. Interested buyers can contact the OHG sales department for detailed information.
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and appreciate your understanding in these challenging circumstances. We thank our sponsors for their support during preparations and hope the situation improves soon.
