Progeny-proven sires delivering results – Still 3 OHG sires among Germany’s Top

MIRCO impressively maintains his outstanding 144 RZG, holding a solid second place in the top ranking. With now 1,357 daughters – more than twice as many as in the previous proof – he also takes the lead in the list with 99 % reliability. MIRCO has built a reputation for siring striking, great type daughters with high production performance and continues to enjoy strong popularity. His udder breeding value now stands at 124 (+3), with daughters showing well-attached, evenly blended udders with longer teats – ideally suited for automatic milking systems (RZRobot 109).

Following next as the highest-ranking polled sire is SIMBA P (143 RZG), scoring with exceptional milk components (+0.40 % fat, +0.29 % protein) and strong feet & legs (123). SUNRISE also remains in the Top 5 (142 RZG) and continues to be a safe bet for reliable, high-producing daughters, offering +2,881 kg milk, great udder health (120 RZS, 107 RZUdderfit) and good milking speed (114 RZD). With 140 RZG, CARUSO shows remarkable stability despite doubling his daughter numbers, confirming his credentials as a truly fault-free sire. Especially impressive is his unmatched daughter fertility index of 139 RZR. GENIUS (137 RZG) stays on many breeders’ favourites list thanks to his well-balanced breeding profile. Even a slight drop in milk yield does not diminish his popularity, as +1,528 kg milk combined with outstanding conformation (128 RZE) keep him in strong demand both domestically and abroad. Beyond the Top 5, production specialists KENNY (136 RZG) and METRO (135 RZG), along with the well-known sires LINDY and GATES (both 132 RZG), can be found in the Top 100. The highest newcomer, SOLIST, enters with 135 RZG, showing a remarkable 10-point improvement in conformation since April to now stand at 129 RZE. Another newcomer to the Top 100 is the polled SIENA PP, combining solid production breeding values with a total of 132 RZG. In the Red Holstein top list, ASCO-RED (ATop-Red x Anreli) makes a bold statement, landing straight in the Top 10. With an increase of more than 250 kg milk compared to his previous genomic evaluation, this all-round Red Holstein talent also impresses with excellent components, fault-free conformation, strong fitness traits, and favourable calving traits.

Genomic Highlights

MADDOX

With 160 RZG, MADDOX (Magello x Gladius x Rafting) is the new No. 1 at OHG, and also ranks in the top list of the economic breeding value scale with +3,031 RZ€. He is the natural-born calf (not ET) of his VG-85–classified dam Dark Pearl, and carries the same black markings. Behind his VG-85–classified granddam Dacoby stands Malinus Dacobra, the full sister of the proven all-rounder MARLEY, and thus part of the well-known Ossege “D” family line. MADDOX combines strong milk components (+0.48 % fat, +0.26 % protein) with over +1,000 kg milk and an outstanding health breeding profile (130 RZHealth), including top fertility values.

In combination with his high longevity breeding value of 135 RZN, his daughters are expected to remain in the herd for well above-average lifespans. In his linear profile, in addition to a very good feet & legs breeding value, he shows ideal teat placement and length, as well as slightly wider, sloped rumps. Thanks to this combination, MADDOX has already been used extensively as a sire of sons.

NEXTLEVEL (NEXO x SUNRISE) stands at 157 RZG, in line with the base adjustment, and remains the most in-demand OHG sire at present thanks to his truly exceptional breeding profile and his position as the No. 1 robot milking bull (138 RZRobot – and that’s no typo). With +2,322 kg milk, an ideal conformation profile, and outstanding health breeding values—particularly in claw health (124 RZClaw and 124 DDcontrol)—he is currently a must-have for any Holstein breeder.

Also holding steady in the Top 100 are STITCH and SKIP with 153 RZG each, followed closely by COMET and SURFER with 151 RZG. Losing only one point due to the base change are MIKE, ARCTIC, and NEXO (all at 149 RZG) as well as SKADI at 148 RZG. Just behind comes the highly complete and fault-free NANDO with 147 RZG. Only ROCKET RDC saw a slightly larger drop of 3 points (now 146 RZG), but improved his conformation to 130 RZE.

In the polled segment, SUBITO PP loses just one point with the base adjustment, now at 142 RZG. His combination of solid production, outstanding conformation profile, easy calving, and good milking speed (105 RZD) currently make him one of the most attractive sires in the homozygous polled category.

In the Red Holstein segment, MEGA-RED P remains unchanged at 152 RZG, continuing to offer one of the best overall packages of performance, fitness, and conformation among all polled Red Holsteins. Close behind at 151 RZG is the Redford son READY-RED. Also holding steady are the top fertility sire MAGIC-RED (145 RZG) and the homozygous polled MAX-RED PP (142 RZG).
